Colleagues will be aware of the guidance released yesterday in relation to plans to widen the extent to which secondary schools are open. The guidance made clear that further opening to provide face to face support for Year 10 and Year 12 students should not be implemented until 15th June.
This means that secondary schools which had been planning to open more widely to these year groups sooner than 15th June should postpone this activity.
However, it will be essential to ensure that we continue our unrelenting support for vulnerable children in accessing provision on site at this time as we move from School Hubs to home schools, and the expectation both nationally and in Cumbria is that children within this group continue to access education at school, or for children not currently accessing a hub, to be encouraged to attend their home school.
If you are required to wear PPE in the course of your work, it is important that you know how to wear it correctly. The risk assessment and recovery guidance includes a link to a video published by Public Health England on how to correctly put on and take off PPE.

Work is progressing to develop local contact tracing arrangements to support the reopening of schools. Further information will be provided at the end of the week.
A reminder that you must update your own school portal to reflect when your school is closed. To update this information please go to the sharepoint portal and update the open/closed date using the closure widget (above).

A reminder to complete our short survey, and returning to us no later than 1 June.
This data will provide us with an overall projection of provision in Cumbria, which we can share with the DfE and will also assist in providing further support where required.
