Update for early years March 27

Latest hub information ahead of Monday's launch

A total of 41 schools and nine early years settings are confirmed now to be up and running from Monday (March 30) to provide essential childcare for our key workers.

You can now share the list of hubs with parents. If key workers contact you direct, who have not registered with a hub, please direct them to our public webpage where they need to register a requirement for childcare from today, with requests being dealt with from Monday.

Support for the self-employed

Yesterday Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the Government's support package for those self-employed who have been adversely affected by the Coronavirus.  The ‘Self Employed Income Support Scheme’ will introduce a taxable grant worth 80% of average trading profits over the last three years up to £2,500 per month.  This scheme will be in place for at least the next three months and will be extended if need be. We have compiled some information here on the support which you may find useful.

A reminder to complete our data collection form

It is essential that we monitor demand for childcare on a daily basis. Please ensure you continue complete our attendance data form each day and return to Cumbria County Council:
