Modern Slavery - training opportunity

Safeguarding Adults at Risk: A Cumbria Partnership

Cumbria Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) in partnership with Safer Cumbria and Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board (CSAB) are providing an opportunity for interested staff to train as trainers who can support raising awareness of Modern Slavery in Cumbria.

Modern Slavery is a crime, which encompasses slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and domestic servitude.  This one-day training course will equip delegates with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to disseminate training and raise awareness of Modern Slavery across their organisations.

Expectation and commitment

The expectation is that trained staff deliver 1-hour awareness sessions within their own organisation via team meetings etc to raise awareness and understanding of Modern Slavery.

Train the Trainers

The training will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to deliver training as well as an understanding of:

  • What the term Modern Slavery covers
  • The types of abuse
  • Legal Framework
  • How to recognise the signs
  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support for Victim

The train the trainer's session will be delivered on Monday 18 November 2019 at Fire Station East Carlisle, Durranhill.
