Serious Case Review Event - Neglect Conference
Sharing learning from serious case reviews in order to improve safeguarding practice is vital. We use the recommendations from case reviews to improve safeguarding of children and young people.
On the 20th January 2017, Cumbria LSCB will host a Neglect Conference, which will be the first of three SCR events.
The Neglect conference will include sessions from experts at national and local level and includes;
Key note speech by Dez Holmes, Director Research in Practice
Why Neglect is a priority for the Cumbria LSCB
The launch of the Cumbria LSCB Neglect Strategy
Intergenerational cycle of Neglect, Claire Hyde MBE
Practice workshops 'how to work with families with children who experience neglect'
The effects that neglect can have on brain development
The impact that neglect can have on attachment and relationships
This learning event is aimed at the wider children and young
people’s workforce from across the Cumbria LSCB partnership.
Who should attend?
Frontline practitioners who work with children who
experience neglect. Managers of frontline practitioners who work with children
who experience neglect.
Senior Managers who can support the LSCB to deliver on its
Neglect strategy.
This includes
education, police and health staff.
