Central Bedfordshire Council is urging everyone who is coming into contact with other people to make Covid-19 testing part of their usual routine.

Rapid tests are available to people living or working in Central Bedfordshire, who do not have symptoms but do need to mix with people who are not part of their household or bubble.

The call to action is to make testing part of your routine twice a week. This is particularly relevant at this time to those in customer facing roles whether a delivery driver or care worker, everyone should be looking at testing as a responsible thing to do that is part of normal life.

Testing is free, quick to do and available at several centres, so lots of good reasons to get tested and keep yourself and your family and colleagues safe.

Watch out for vaccine scams

Unfortunately some criminals are taking advantage of the roll out of the coronavirus vaccine to commit fraud.

The most important point to remember is that the vaccine is free of charge.

The NHS will never:

  • ask you for your bank account or card details
  • ask you for your PIN or banking password
  • arrive unannounced to your home to administer the vaccine
  • ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips
