Coronavirus updates

Looking for ways to occupy your family during lockdown?

Keeping your family busy

It is important that we all stay at home to get Coronavirus under control. The sacrifices you are making will make a difference.

We understand that being indoors for longer than normal can have adverse effects on people's health and wellbeing. We've pulled together a list of activities to help you and your family combat these effects and get through the lockdown.

#1 Reading activities and challenges

Join the Central Bedfordshire Library Team on Facebook for some great library activities. If you can't make the live activities, worry not, they will be saved as videos to watch at your family's conveniences.

All our libraries are currently operating a select and collect service to ensure your reading supply will never be depleted.

#2 Live theatre shows

We are still in panto season ("Oh no we’re not!"), join the Leighton Buzzard Drama Group for a virtual pantomime of Robin Hood. Tickets are £4.99 for the whole household. Shows are on this Saturday (16th January) at 2 pm & 5 pm.

There are a whole host of amazing plays, musicals and dance shows available to stream during the lockdown, which will make your couch the best seat in the house. From contemporary dance at Saddlers Wells to The Wind in the Willows, you're sure to find something for every member of the family.

#4 Help with home schooling

Home schooling is no easy feat. Starting on Monday 11th January, the BBC will be running three-hours of primary school programming from 9am on weekdays.
