COVID-19 weekly figures up to 27 September 2020

Full infographic and breakdown of the weekly figures are available on our website

Weekly figures

The number of people testing positive for Coronavirus in the last week (week ending 27 September) has increased by five cases compared to the same point last week to 56 cases.

Although this appears to be a small increase compared to the previous week, this a significant increase from the 25 cases reported three weeks ago and sadly there has been one death in Central Bedfordshire which hasn’t been the case for some time.

In line with the rest of the country infections are on the rise and we will be strongly urging the public to continue their efforts to keep the virus under control and avoid a lockdown.

The headline statistics from our Public Health partner councils are provided below:

  • Luton: 122 cases (up 22 from the previous week)
  • Bedford: 72 cases (up 23 from the previous week) and one death
  • Milton Keynes: 56 cases (up 12 from the previous week)

Details of cases in other surrounding areas are available through the ArcGIS website. This website shows cases for the previous week although across a slightly different date range to our report. The number of cases is shown by Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs) which have on average a population of 7,800 in each area.

Have you downloaded the NHS COVID-19 App?

The app is available for smartphones only - not tablets, smartwatches or other devices.

To get started, go to Android's Google Play or Apple's App Store and search for "NHS Covid-19".

The handsets must have Android 6.0 (released in 2015) or iOS 13.5 (released in May 2020) and Bluetooth 4.0 or higher. That excludes the iPhone 6 and older versions of Apple's handsets.

Further information is available on the NHS website. This also gives information on how to report an issue or if you have any questions about this product.
