Learn Together  |  Cambridgeshire County Council

Dear Reader,

First Evidence Network Event a Huge Success!

The Evidence Network was delighted to bring Marc Rowland, EEF and Unity Schools advisor for improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners, to speak at our first Evidence Bites event on Thursday 23rd March at Cromwell Community College, Chatteris.

This was the first in a series of three after school events for teaching colleagues –  informal ‘meet-eat-speak’ PD events from 5-7 pm bringing inspiring national education voices into East Cambs & Fenland to energise our thinking and teaching.

It was wonderful to bring together so many colleagues from our area to hear Marc speak in the heart of our rural communities. His thought provoking talk focused on addressing educational disadvantage and helping pupils thrive in our schools and classrooms and was well received by attendees.

'Fantastic guest speaker who totally captivated the audience. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially catching up with old faces.'

'That was a really interesting, inspiring and thought provoking session tonight. It was a really good structure and worked really well.'

'I loved the idea of networking and refreshments followed by the high quality PD session.'

Please see the Training and Events section of this newsletter for full details of the next  Evidence Network Event.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Schools Webinar Series

Join the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Schools Webinar Series on Knowledge Hub to access a wealth of free expert webinars and other resources for schools. This series of webinars was originally developed by the Fenland and East Cambridgeshire Opportunity Area, in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council. The resources published here are available to Schools and Early Years settings throughout Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The webinar entitled The Only Way is up! and `Ready to Learn' provides an honest, warts and all, account of how two ‘weak’ Fenland schools became strong ‘good’ providers of primary and nursery education, led by Rob Litten, Executive Headteacher.

He is joined by Nicky Froggatt to give an account of the impact the OA has had on their schools, and the more recent impact of the 'Ready to Learn' project with a focus on enrichment, engagement and wellbeing. This session includes honest reflections and lessons on school leadership. Access the webinar by clicking `Resources', finding the webinar and clicking the link.
