Cambridgeshire Schools Newsletter

Autumn leaves 2022

Learn Together  |  Cambridgeshire County Council

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the first newsletter of the new academic year.  It is a real pleasure and privilege to be writing to you in my role as Assistant Director.  During my first few months in post, it has been a privilege to see the many strengths evident within the schools and settings across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  These strengths have been highlighted by the positive picture of the provisional results and the comparison with national averages.  This is testament to the hard work and commitment from your teams who have supported children and young people tirelessly throughout the challenges of last two years.

I hope that the term has started smoothly and that the joy of seeing the children’s smiles outweigh any additional challenges you are currently facing.  My team and I are looking forward to continuing to work closely with you, building on the strong foundations established between schools, settings, and the local authority to benefit the children and young people we serve.

Healthy Schools Partner Conference & Learning Event - We need your help!

Following the decision to postpone the Healthy Schools Summer Conference in July due to a variety of factors, an appeal went out to schools to provide feedback to help shape this event for the future.

Thank you to all of those schools that responded with very helpful and insightful comments as well as suggestions for keynote speakers and presentations to support embedding whole school approaches to health and wellbeing.

The feedback to date suggests that a conference in Autumn Term 2 would be most beneficial. In view of the Summer break, the deadline for the feedback has been extended to the 23rd September. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete and all responses will be most appreciated to confirm the next steps to take.

Thank you in advance and the outcome of the feedback will be shared by the end of September.
