Easter Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme E-Voucher

 

The Easter HAF Programme is now open for bookings. Eligible pupils, in receipt of benefits-related free school meals, can attend a participating holiday scheme for 16 hours for free. The HAF Team issued e-vouchers to all eligible parents on 28.2.22. Please refer parents to the How to claim your HAF voucher guidance should they need support.

 

Our Parents webpage provides further information about the Easter programme. Additionally a publicity poster can be found here. This parent letter was emailed to all schools on 28.2.22.

Young Carers' Action Day

Young carers action day

Young Carers' Action Day - Taking action on isolation. The online event on 15 March (4.30 to 5.30) will mark the launch of the Young Carers Alliance - a new network designed to promote the voices of young carers and those who support them. Invitation to participate in a research study on school language policies

As part of a British Academy funded project led by the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, colleagues based in secondary schools across the UK are invited to complete this very short survey (2-3 mins). More information along with contact details can be found here.

Year 5 Maths Challenge 2022

The Year 5 Maths Challenge has become a regular fixture of the summer term in Cambridgeshire and this year is no different with it returning for its 21st year. The first online heat will be held on Monday 25th April. The competition is for teams of four Year 5 pupils who take part in four collaborative rounds of maths questions which not only challenge their mathematical knowledge but also their powers of memory and estimation. There are eight heats to choose from and schools can enter up to 2 teams. Schools can book teams onto the challenge using this link.

A Day of Welcome: Building a Culture of Welcome for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

A Day of Welcome, 17 June 2022, is a day of solidarity and learning in schools that aims to build a culture of welcome and understanding for refugees and asylum seekers, and to support Refugee Week. Resources and activities are provided that make it easy for schools and families to participate, in school and at home. For Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex schools, resources are provided which are designed to share little-known local histories of refugee migration. Apprenticeship Award for Cambridgeshire Postgraduate Teacher Apprentice

The first Cambridgeshire Apprenticeship Awards, which were held on Friday 11 February, were a huge success! Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council jointly hosted the awards, which were held via a virtual awards ceremony. You can watch the event in full here.

One of this year's cohort of Postgraduate Teacher Apprentices was given `highly commended' in the Personal Achievement Award category. RE Network Meetings

There are two meetings this term and will be held via Zoom. The emphasis of this meeting will be ‘What does knowledge look like in RE’ as well as discussions on current resources that would be useful to the Primary school. “4th and 29th March 2022. Back Care Training for Mainstream School Staff

Do you have a child attending your school with moving and handling needs due to physical disability? 

If the answer is yes, you need to ensure that your staff supporting the child has appropriate training.

This training is offered from Cambridgeshire Community Services Occupational Therapy Moving and Handling Team.
