Online resources for people living with dementia
Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Alzheimer’s Society is moving the annual campaign Dementia Action Week from May to autumn this year. The theme of the Week will remain “A Little Does A Lot”, encouraging social activities with friends and family living with dementia. While the campaign is postponed, care and support to people affected by dementia will carry on. Here are some online resources which can help people and families reminisce together and share conversations.
BBC Music Memories – This is a pilot project by the BBC; it provides a simple function of creating a playlist and helps people to access memories through music.
https://musicmemories.bbcrewind.co.uk/
BBC RemArc – This website contains images, audio recordings and video clips selected from the BBC Archive and organized according to themes or decades. It is thoughtfully designed to help people living with dementia to reconnect with the past.

There are around 750 children & young people across Cambridgeshire, particularly teenagers and children over ten, who need the love and support from foster carers. Anyone who is interested can find out more about the process by phone or video call and ask any questions they may have about becoming a foster carer and what’s involved.
Foster Care Fortnight is the UK’s largest foster care awareness raising campaign, and aims to show the positive impact foster care has made on children’s and young people’s lives.
We are encouraging people from all walks of life to consider fostering – and we want to hear from anyone who is over 21, has a spare bedroom and the passion and dedication to help children and teenagers thrive.
People should not rule themselves out because they have children, are single, married or partnered, work, unemployed, live in rented accommodation or want to foster past retirement age.
If you would like to register your interest then email fostering@cambridgeshire.gov.uk, call 0800 052 0078 or visit www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/fostering
