Help shape the future of Huntingdonshire's parks, open spaces and play areas

Parks, play areas and open spaces make a valuable contribution to local communities.  Huntingdonshire District Council is in the process of developing a Healthy Open Spaces and Play Strategy which will shape the future of these places.

Developing the strategy is a collorbative process and we want to know what the students and staff of Huntingdonshire’s schools think, how you use parks and open spaces at the moment and your aspirations for their future. To find out more about how your school could get involved please click here.

Time to Read - Booktrust gift for reception children

Schools will shortly be receiving their deliveries of ‘Time to Read’ packs – the book gift supplied by Booktrust for teachers to gift to every Reception child in the country, in order to encourage reading for pleasure.  The book this year is the wonderfully funny ‘The Cave’, by Rob Hodgson

The Booktrust website has a lots of great resources and ideas to help teachers theme a lesson or activity around the story and get their class excited about their new books.

Schools can also order extra packs if needed, via the website. Do make use of this fantastic resource to encourage shared reading, which is hugely important for children's personal development and wellbeing.
