The Cambridgeshire.net website, owned and maintained by Cambridgeshire County Council, will be replaced during summer 2019. This website is used by Cambridgeshire libraries to promote their upcoming events and activities for residents.
Why are we replacing Cambridgeshire.net?
Cambridgeshire.net is reliant on old technology. We are moving to a new online directory in order to improve design, functionality and security; improve accessibility and expand compatibility with all internet browsers and devices, including mobile phones; and to make it easier to share and find information across Cambridgeshire.
The new directory will be a combination of the content from Cambridgeshire.net and Cambridgeshire County Council’s Family Information Directory, where residents and organisations will be able to find information on schools and childcare providers, local events and activities (including those taking place at our libraries), council and health services, to name a few.
We will be launching the new directory at the end of August 2019. There may be a short-cross over period where all sites are live at the same time. Once the new directory is up and running, we will switch off Cambridgeshire.net and the Family Information Directory.
Library users will then be able to visit our new online directory to find out information on the events and activities taking place at their local library and throughout the county.
For more information about the new directory, please visit https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/news/cambridgeshire-net-replacement-update/ or contact the Information Services team at infoservices@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.
We are so excited that Pippa Goodhart, local author of children’s best seller book You Choose, will be one of our judges for our Recyclables Summer Challenge Competition Cambridgeshire children who have just finished Years 3, 4 and 5.
Use your imagination to create a story of how everyday recycling is transformed into something new. The winning story will be made into a video by professional animators and its author and their class will get a trip to visit the Waste Management Park in Waterbeach.
For more details and to download the storyboard visit www.recap.co.uk/spaceforchange.
Submit your entry at your local library by 20th September.
