Dear Reader,

Cambridgeshire Outdoors - Wonderful Winter Residentials ... creating memories that last a lifetime

Following a review, we are delighted to announce that on, Friday 12 July, the Commercial and Investment Committee will consider a recommendation that the Council retains all three centres.  The council has committed to continue to sustain and develop the centres for the pupils of Cambridgeshire but we need you to take advantage of these fantastic resources.

Have you considered a winter residential at one of our three outdoor centres…a perfect opportunity for children to have an amazing experience whilst building confidence and developing personal resilience #WinterResidentials. We have a limited number of places available for residential stays during autumn/winter 2019 and spring 2020. Each centre offers its own unique atmosphere and range of activities including dedicated support from our team throughout your stay. Visit our websites to find out more about what is on offer at each centre and the bespoke packages we offer. Contact the centres directly to take advantage of the many benefits of a winter residential and to find out about our special offers and range of seasonal prices.

Grafham Water Centre      01480 810521

We are also developing ambitious new plans for Cambridgeshire Outdoors to ensure we continue to offer high quality outdoor and environmental education at affordable prices. This will allow us to support the growing awareness around environmental issues, such as climate change, which offer an opportunity to develop products with practical experiences that complement the work being undertaken within our schools and ensure they play a greater role in helping the council to achieve its wider ambitions to tackle climate change. The winning story will get made into a video by professional animators with the help of its author and their whole class. There is also a prize for a whole class visit to the Waste Management Park in Waterbeach.

The competition runs 8 July to 20 September. To find out more visit https://www.recap.co.uk/spaceforchange

Can you help Cambridgeshire's Fostering Service to find new Family Link carers?

Family Link carers

Family Link carers help to give parents a much needed break by looking after a child with a disability for a short break on a regular basis. This rewarding role is a fantastic opportunity to support a family who need some extra help and it also enables children with disabilities to enjoy new experiences and broaden their social circle.
