This will come into effect in September 2020, with the DfE encouraging schools to start implementation during the academic year 2019/2020. The PSHE Service’s resources, including the comprehensive Primary Personal Development Programme (available as part of the annual wellbeing subscription) provide all that schools need to meet the requirements. For more information, please contact pshe@cambridgeshire.gov.uk. We are also running a conference on Wednesday 9 October with Lucy Emmerson from the Sex Education Forum as keynote speaker, and practical workshops. Please see our Learn Together page here .
If you would like to receive an admissions file for your new reception children, please email ido@cambridgeshire.gov.uk and we will upload one to the S2S.
Mrs Sam Surtees, Strategic Manager Admissions & Attendance will, I regret to inform you, be leaving her post in mid-August. Sam has been successful in securing a new role working for the Active Learning Trust. Pending the outcome of recruitment to fill Sam’s role, it may prove necessary to put interim arrangements in place. Further details will follow together with information on how you can contribute towards marking Sam’s significant contribution to children, families, schools and settings in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. In the intervening period, please contact Hazel Belchamber at hazel.belchamber@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or on 01223 699775 if you wish to discuss any aspect of this announcement.
Since 2013, Crosshall Junior has run a curriculum inspiring social action, improving home-school links, nurturing talents and promoting risk taking.
It is not reliant on academic ability and seeks to develop the skills, knowledge and processes in all children that are needed for adult life.
The curriculum is easily able to be adopted alongside a school’s current curriculum. External sources such as Whole Education, OfSTED and other heads have all valued the work.
If you would like to know more, contact office@crosshalljunior.co.uk.

Helen Manley, Curriculum Teaching and Leadership Team.
Thank you to all those Headteachers and Deputy Headships who have provided Interim Headship cover throughout the academic year, your work has been greatly appreciated by Governing Bodies, staff, pupils and parents. You have made such a significant difference to improving the schools and have given generously of your time and energy. You have all commented on how useful the experience has been for you and your school.
I am hoping to develop a longer list of people that I can call upon at short notice who would be ready to step into a Leadership position, sometimes at a school in challenging circumstances, sometimes when the Headteacher is on sick leave and there is no one within the school who could take on the Interim Headship. These interim arrangements usually last for a term, or sometimes two terms. If you would be interested in being on the ‘Possible Interim Headteacher’ List then please do contact me to discuss how it works.
Huge thank you to the Interim Headteachers who are doing a fantastic job this term:
Rob Campbell (CEO Morris Education Trust) is Interim Head at Burwell Village College Primary
Alison Clarke is Interim Head at Bewick Bridge Community Primary
Nikki Wilson is Interim Head at Dry Drayton C.E Primary
Barney Brown (Assistant Headteacher at King’s Hedges Primary School) is Interim Head at Park Street C.E Primary
Claire Matthews (Headteacher at Abbots Ripton CE Primary) is Interim Head at Holywell C.E Primary
Alana Brown (Headteacher at The Newton Community Primary) is Interim Head at Offord Primary
Diane Kingdon is Interim Head at Kettlefields Primary
Cambridgeshire Primary Heads Association has asked that we include the names of Interim Headteachers in this newsletter each term so that cluster groups can welcome them to their meetings.
