Broxtowe Green Festival next Saturday

bioblitz

Our Colliers Wood Green Festival takes place next Saturday between 12pm and 3pm - are you ready?

From this free festival you will learn simple but exciting ways to live more sustainably and there will be talks from leading experts covering:

  • Recycling and composting
  • Climate change
  • Wildflowers
  • Biodiversity

This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to increase their understanding of how to tackle climate change in Broxtowe.

You will also be able to take part in a BioBlitz in which you can identify as many species of flora and fauna as possible in Colliers Wood. There will also be a bird walk, bat walk and moth-trapping.

Summer Bedding planting

bedding

This week nearly 21,000 plants and flowers were planted across Broxtowe, ready to bloom and bring vibrant colour to all areas of the Borough.

In total 87 beds, 26 planters, 15 Pagoda planters, 43 liner baskets and 12 manger baskets have been placed which present a stunning variety of flowers including petunias, geraniums, ageratums and salvias.

To make it more exciting we have tied the bedding in with the Queen's jubilee theme by using red, white and blue flowers.
