The Mayor of Broxtowe with the white ribbon team

With White Ribbon Day just around the corner, the White Ribbon team took their stall to a Eastwood Community Football Club home game.

They spoke to different members of the community and the event was supported by the Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Richard MacRae, and the Leader of the Council, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE and Councillor Elizabeth Williamson,

The Mayor of Broxtowe said, “I was delighted to be asked to attend the event at Eastwood Football Club. I am a keen supporter of the White Ribbon campaign, so any events where I can show my support I am happy to do so. I look forward to attending the White Ribbon Day itself.”

COVID-19 Updates

Let's Keep Moving Safely

Photo of Public Health Director for Nottinghamshire

With several hundred of our residents testing positive for COVID-19 each day, it is clear that the pandemic is still with us. To help our loved ones and our local NHS, we need to do all we can to avoid further spread of the virus.

This includes:

  • Getting tested
  • Getting vaccinated
  • Wearing a face covering in crowded places
  • Regularly washing your hands
  • Letting in plenty of fresh air

The Public Health Director for Nottinghamshire, Jonathan Gribbin has said, 'I'm grateful for those across Nottinghamshire who have made it their mission to slow the spread of COVID-19.

First and second doses of the vaccine are still available, and thank you to those that have come forward this week for their jabs. Testing remains important, lateral flow tests should be used twice weekly and if you do have symptoms, even if they're mild, it remains essential to get a PCR test and isolate.''

Your Local Vaccination Sites

You can book an appointment at a pharmacy or a larger vaccination site. Appointments can be booked through the NHS website or 119 from 152 days after your second dose.

Visit the Grab A Jab website to find site opening times if you are walking in.
