Emergency Repair

Need to report an emergency repair over the Christmas period?

When the offices are closed you can contact us using the Housing Emergency Repairs telephone number on 0115 917 7777 - Option 2.

Please only use this service for real emergencies.

You will then be connected to the control room, where your call will be answered by a member of staff.

Please remain patient and respect the decision of the member of staff as not all calls are deemed as emergencies.

If you smell gas please contact the National Grid directly on 0800 111 999.

Threatened with Homelessness?

Everyone should be able to have a roof over their head, so if you're threatened with homelessness or are homeless or rough sleeping, please contact the Housing Options Team.

You can contact them on 0115 917 7777 or email housingoptionsmailbox@broxtowe.gov.uk

The Council works with the Street Outreach Team to provide advice and assistance to those that are found to be rough sleeping in Broxtowe.

You can also call 0115 917 7777 when Offices are closed and your housing circumstances are an emergency. This will go through to an emergency out of hours team, who will be able to provide emergency assistance.

Dorothy is 101!

DL cutting her cake at her 101 birthday

This year one of our Independent Living tenants turned 101! Unfortunately due to lockdown last year, she wasn't able to have a party for her hundredth birthday.

However, this year family, friends and tenants got together to host a special party in one of the Independent Living communal lounges.

Facts about Dorothy

She has lived in one of our schemes for over 30 years and has been a local resident since 1951.

During the war Dorothy worked in a factory testing gas masks and also worked in the manufacturing of iron work bombs.

She's an active member in the Independent living social groups and enjoys getting involved with lots of the activities.

Dorothy 'I want to say a big thank you to the social group for getting together and throwing me a wonderful birthday party'.

Why not make life long friends and become a Independent Living tenant!

Fire Safety this Christmas

Fire Safety this christmas

All around the country people are already popping up their Christmas trees and decorating their houses with lights.

However, we want you to stay safe whilst spreading joy.

Here's a few Fire Safety tips to help you stay safe this Christmas.

  • Going out or to bed? Switch off & unplug the Christmas lights.
  • Candles: Never leave burning candles unattended.
  • Outside Lights: Why not pop a timer onto the plug. It's a great way to keep energy bills down, stay safe and lower light pollution.
  • Keep hallways clear: This includes putting up decorations. Make sure that they not in communal areas.
  • Avoid heaters: When decorating, avoid placing anything over radiators or heaters.

Find out more tips on overall fire safety in your home by downloading the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service's - Safe and Well guide.
