It's back to school time
 Pupils all over the country are beginning to return to schools and colleges after their summer breaks.
There are three key changes:
1. Mixing and 'bubbles': Keeping pupils or students in a year group or classroom bubbles to reduce mixing is no longer a requirement.
2. Tracing close contacts: Close contacts will now be identified via NHS Test and Trace.
3. Face coverings: Face coverings are no longer advised for pupils, staff and visitors either in classrooms or in communal areas.
Due to COVID-19 cases remaining high across Nottinghamshire it's important to continue taking regular rapid tests which will help you to identify infections early and stop the spread.
In a press release issued, the Government has said secondary schools and colleges are offering two tests on-site at the start of term, followed by continued regular testing at home.
Grab A Jab this Bank Holiday
 If you've not received your Covid-19 vaccination you can do it this Bank Holiday weekend at the walk-in clinics.
If you are 16 or 17 years old make sure you check the age restrictions before attending.
If you are 18+ you can also book your vaccine appointment by calling 119 or book online.
Bank Holiday Bin Collections
 Don't forget your bin collection days will change next week due to the Bank Holiday. Bins will have been collected as on Friday 27th August, but all other collections on Monday will be collected on Tuesday.
Our customer service centre and council offices will be closed Bank Holiday Monday 30th August and reopen Tuesday 31st August.

Art trail certificates on offer to children in Beeston
Children who visit Beeston’s new art trail this summer can receive a special certificate for finding all of the pictures.
A series of steel etchings depicting key workers from the town was unveiled in June in tribute to their efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now, families who visit all ten plaques, which are in various locations around the town centre, can pick up a Mayor’s Certificate from Beeston Library when they complete the trail.
You can find a map featuring the location of all 10 artworks here.
The library is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 1pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturdays. It is not open on Sundays or Bank Holiday Monday.

The Mayor of Broxtowe Raised The Flag To Mark The First Ever Nottinghamshire Day
Wednesday 25th September was the first ever Nottinghamshire day, a day in which residents and organisations were encouraged to celebrate all that is good in our amazing county.
The Mayor of Broxtowe, along with the Mayor's Escort raised the Nottinghamshire flag and shared some words to mark the day.
''I am delighted to be here today to raise the Nottinghamshire flag for the very first time to mark 25th August as our County Day. What a fantastic and historic moment this is, and most exciting!"
Nottinghamshire Day was a great opportunity to celebrate the heritage, culture and local traditions of our Historic County. As well as encouraging resident to support the local economy by supporting small, local businesses.

Broxtowe residents are being urged to check their voter registration details
Local residents are being warned not to lose their voice on decisions that affect them by making sure their electoral registration details are up to date.
The annual canvass which has started this week, ensures that Broxtowe Borough Council can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered to vote so that they can be encouraged to do so.
People who have moved recently are particularly encouraged to look out for the voter registration messages and check the details.
If you're not currently registered, the easiest way to do this is online.

Support Available
Self-isolating
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, stay at home and self-isolate immediately. If you have a positive test result but do not have symptoms, stay at home and self-isolate as soon as you receive the results. Your household needs to isolate too.

Financial support

If you have symptoms or a health concern you are worried about, please contact your GP practice. GP practices are still open and here for you. When you call your practice, you may be offered a consultation online or over the phone. If they feel they need to see you in person, they will invite you in for a face to face appointment.
