STAR 2021 (Survey of Tenants & Residents)

Housing will be carrying out STAR later this summer.

All Broxtowe Borough Council tenants and leaseholders will be receiving a short survey to share their views on the Housing services they receive.

Look out for your survey and let us know your views, to help us plan how services are delivered.


Financial Inclusion

Are you struggling with managing your finances? Our Financial Inclusion Service may be able to help. 

Our Financial Inclusion Team can assist our Housing customers with:

  • Helping to complete financial statements to establish debt management options
  • Helping to complete welfare benefit applications
  • Helping with other financial matters, including appeals.

Building Better Opportunities - Money Sorted Drop in Sessions

The Money Sorted is a project to support anyone who wants to increase their confidence and skills with money management. 

They can offer free advice on prioritising bills, switching suppliers, budgeting, dealing with debt and how to save money. 

Drop in anytime on either of these dates to get 'sorted'

  • Wednesday 4th August: 10am-3pm at Beeston Library
  • Thursday 5th August: 10am - 3pm at Stapleford Library

Well for Work don’t just offer careers advice, they offer the opportunity for you to feel confident and supported, for life.

Careers advice isn’t just help finding a job! They can help you with free courses, build on your confidence together and even help with managing money.

If you’re looking for work but not sure where to start, Well for Work can show you the way forward and help you to get there, with support for life.

Stapleford Community Safety Fair

It's all about Household safety. Information from the Fire service, Police, Cycle Security and the Housing team will be available. 

Saturday 31st July: 10am - 2pm at Stapleford Fire Station. 


Skills & Training Opportunities

Housing customers, expand your skills and knowledge to boost your job prospects with this fantastic course.

HGV Training

Clarion Futures and System Group are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to enter the HGV driving industry.

Individuals will have the opportunity to gain their Class C (with an option of C+E) licence with further qualifications such as Level 2 delivering goods vehicles.  

Course details

  • Start date: Late September (date tbc)
  • Course length: 2 – 3 months approximately. Online learning is 3.5 weeks. Mon – Fri 9:30 – 3:30
  • Information sessions: Wednesday 4th and 18th August 11am (must attend one)

Eligibility

  • Participants unemployed and claiming relevant benefits (if working must not be earning more than living wage (£18,525.00)
  • Must be a UK resident for past 3 years and have a current and up-to-date Full UK Driver's Licence
  • Must have access to a laptop, PC or Tablet with Zoom installed including WIFI Connection
  • Learners to be aged 19+

The Leasehold Service Charge

For Leaseholders Only:

The Leasehold Service Charge for 20/21 will be sent out by September 2021 at the latest.

Any disputes with the Service Charge need to be put into writing and will not be taken over the telephone. This is to ensure that the query can be investigated properly and responded to promptly by the Leasehold Officer.

These should be sent either via email to leasehold@broxtowe.gov.uk or in writing to:

Children's Free Holiday Club

Broxtowe free holidays clubs for children

We're excited to announce that Broxtowe will be running a free holiday club programme for children on free school meals this summer!

We're working with a range of providers across the Borough who will be providing lots of different activities, so there's something for everyone. All sessions also include lunch for your child.

Sessions are free of charge for those who are eligible for free school meals, but some providers are also offering paid for places that are open to anyone.
