The Big Vax-The-Nation Weekend Has Begun!
 First dose walk-in COVID-19 jabs are now available for anyone aged 18 and over from Friday 25 – Monday 28 June in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as part of The Big Vax-The-Nation Weekend.
Anyone who has had their first dose on 30 April or before can walk-in for their second jab.
Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are available and the below centres will be open 8am-8pm.

- King's Meadow Campus
- Richard Herrod Centre
- Newark Showground
- Ashfield Health Village
- Mansfield Wickes site
- King's Mill Hospital Vaccination Hub
- Queen's Medical Centre.

Keep Getting Tested Even If You've Had The Vaccine
 There is some concern about increasing coronavirus rates across Nottinghamshire and we want to make sure we reduce the spread of COVID-19 to our residents, as well as ease the pressures on our local NHS.
That's why it's still really important that alongside getting vaccinated, to make twice-weekly testing as part of our routine to help keep cases down, if you are not showing any signs of the virus.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you should get a PCR test and self isolate.
Going Out This Weekend? Stay Safe
 If you're going out to meet your friends or loved ones in an indoor environment, please remember to keep sticking to the guidance and maintaining social distance.
Keep following these main rules to ensure you are keeping our community safe:
- Stick to the rule of six indoors
- Wash your hands
- Wear a face covering when inside or moving around a venue
- Self isolate if you have any symptoms or test positive for COVID-19

Heroes Honoured For Armed Forces Day
The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Richard MacRae, raised a specially commissioned Armed Forces Day Flag in The Square, Beeston on Monday 21 June at 11.00am to mark a week of events being held across the country.
Colonel Gavin Hatcher OBE from 170 (Infrastructure Support) Engineer Group Royal Engineers joined Councillor MacRae to raise the flag and address representatives from the Royal British Legion and uniformed organisations to show our support and recognise the contributions of all those who serve or have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
“With the easing of some COVID restrictions, I’m glad that we can have our usual flag raising ceremony in Beeston Square this year. Flying this flag is our way of showing gratitude for all the Armed Forces do,” said Councillor Richard MacRae.

You can still sign up for the Go Green Challenge
Don't forget you can still sign up to our Go Green Challenge as part of the Borough’s efforts to tackle climate change.
The challenge will bring weekly email challenges to residents over the course of six weeks to help families be more green in 2021 and beyond.
The challenge aims to equip residents with the knowledge and skills to help tackle waste volume issues created by their own homes, and invites residents to take on one element each week for six weeks. From meal planning to making plastic bottle bird feeders, there is a challenge for everyone.

New Goal Posts for Beeston Parks
Following a successful bid to the Football Foundation for replacement football posts at Hall Park, Eastwood last year, another bid was made this spring.
The bid this time was for four new sets of full size goal posts, two at Leyton Crescent Recreation Ground and two at Weirfields Recreation Ground. The round, heavy duty lockable posts will replace the old and outdated square sectional posts which are over 15 years old.
The application has been supported by the clubs which use the sites. In total £1,800 has been received to replace the posts with the work scheduled to take place later this month in time for the 2021/22 season.

Support Available
Self-isolating
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, stay at home and self-isolate immediately. If you have a positive test result but do not have symptoms, stay at home and self-isolate as soon as you receive the results. Your household needs to isolate too.

Financial support

Mental health
The impact of the pandemic on you and your loved ones and not being able to enjoy all of the activities you would normally be involved in can all have an impact on your health. It is important to remember to look after yourself. If you have symptoms or a health concern you are worried about, please contact your GP practice. GP practices are still open and here for you. When you call your practice, you may be offered a consultation online or over the phone. If they feel they need to see you in person, they will invite you in for a face to face appointment.
