Investment Consultation in Kimberley now open

kimberley

Residents, workers and local businesses in Kimberley are being urged to have their say on what improvements they would like to see as part of the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, which will see up to £20m invested in the town.

The £4.8 billion Levelling Up Fund will invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK, including regenerating town centres and high streets, upgrading local transport, and investing in cultural and heritage assets.

Chair of the Jobs and Economic Committee, Councillor Tim Hallam said: “It’s important that we take up all opportunities to invest in our local area for the future, including taking advantage of possible funding like the Levelling Up Fund. If you’re a local resident, business or group, this is your chance to be part of that process and help determine future investment in Kimberley."

Walk to School Week

walk to school

Walk to School Week is taking place Monday 17th - Friday 21st May. Families are encouraged to walk, cycle, scoot or 'Park and Stride' for the whole week to see the big differences that come from small steps, from healthier and happier children to fewer cars outside the school gates.

This year's challenge will focus on the benefit walking to school has on individuals, communities and the planet.

Water Saving Week

water saving week

Water Saving Week is taking place from 17th - 21st May and the message is more urgent than ever before: we all need to be using less water. Climate change is ushering in longer periods of dry weather and, combined with population growth and changes in lifestyle, has led to growing pressure being put on our water supplies.

This year the main focus is to help people save more water when they're out and about and to help businesses and communities reduce their water consumption and protect our environment.

It's important to get people talking about how important water is, and how easy it is to make small changes that make a big difference.

Keep an eye on our social media posts next week for some tips on how you can start saving more water.

Come down and support our local markets

  • Ladies clothes

Our Beeston market is open every Monday and Thursday 8.00am - 3.00pm and our Stapleford market every Thursday 8.00am - 2.00pm.

Our teams have been working hard to make sure that all of our markets are COVID secure and our visitors can shop safely. Please help them by following the current hands, face, space and fresh air guidance.
