Let's keep going Broxtowe

rule of 6

Broxtowe now has the second lowest rates of COVID-19 in Nottinghamshire and we just want to say a big thank you to all of our residents for sticking to the guidance, your hard work is helping to relieve the pressure on our NHS and save lives.

It is now the second week of Step 2 of the Roadmap and whilst we have enjoyed seeing businesses and outdoor hospitality reopen, it's important we still carry on following the Government guidelines and stick to the restrictions that are in place.

The next phase of the Roadmap is due to take place next month and it's vital that now more than ever we continue to keep up the good work and follow the current guidance:

  • You can meet up to six people from any number of households (rule of 6) or two households can meet outdoors
  • Keep washing your hands, making space, wearing face coverings inside and open windows where possible to let fresh in
  • Get tested if you have symptoms and self-isolate

Remember to get your second COVID-19 vaccine

second dose

We are encouraging all those who have had their first vaccine to make sure they attend for their second dose.

The second dose acts as a 'booster' jab to enhance immunity to the virus and offer a greater protection against infection. It is important that people attend for their second dose vaccination when they are invited to do so.

While a single dose of the vaccine does provide a good level of protection from the effects of COVID-19, the second dose is very important to ensure the strongest possible protection.

mowing

Our parks and open spaces are generally mown every two weeks from April to October, depending on weather conditions. This is to create accessible open spaces that are attractive and provide space for people to enjoy active recreation in Broxtowe.

Mowing is undertaken for a number of reasons:

  • To create accessible green spaces
  • To help with safety by cutting vegetation at road junctions
  • To make areas feel more welcoming and appealing

There are nearly 200 hectares of parks and open spaces to maintain in Broxtowe. Not all these are grass areas but this puts in perspective the areas that need to be maintained.
