Eat Out, to Help Out Scheme

Businesses in Broxtowe can use the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme to offer a discount to diners and encourage them to eat at their restaurant.

Registration for the scheme is live NOW and closes on 31st August 2020.

Eligible businesses for the scheme include those which:

  • sell food for immediate consumption on their premises,

  • provide their own dining area or shares a dining area with another establishment for eat-in meals,

  • were registered as a food business with the relevant local authority on or before 7th July,

  • further eligibility criteria applies and can be found by clicking 'Register Now' below.

What is the scheme?

Through the Eat Out, to Help Out Scheme businesses can provide offers to customers:

  • all day, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3rd to 31st August 2020,

  • offer a 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in (up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner),

  • claim the money back from the government,
  • Alcohol and service charges are excluded from the offer.

How to register as a business

This is done via the government website and can be found by clicking the 'Register Now' button below.

Registration will remain open right up until the close of the scheme, which is 31st August 2020. Businesses are urged to register as soon as possible, in order to capitalise from the scheme and provide offers to customers from the 3rd August.

Business views for Borough's Recovery Plan needed

The Council is now seeking feedback from every businesses across the Borough, to better understand the needs of the business community in terms of commercial recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reporting outbreaks of Coronavirus

Guidance for businesses and organisations on how to recognise, contain and report incidents of coronavirus has been published.

Early outbreak management information in the form of 'Action Cards' have been created to make sure that people who run businesses or organisations:

  • Know how to recognise and report an incident of coronavirus; and
  • Are aware of measures local health protection teams may advise in order to contain it. 

Action Cards

The government have produced workplace 'Action Cards' which are designed to be printed or downloaded to keep on-hand in your business or organisation. Different business settings and specific situations, where an outbreak could occur have been covered in the series of Action Cards and include, but are not limited to:

  • a restaurant or café,
  • construction site,
  • place of worship.

Helping business stay COVID-19 secure

Businesses can access the latest re-opening guidance packs from government, which include tailored information on how those different business types must operate COVID-securely. Please visit the Council's 'Open for Business' webpage for more details. This webpage has been updated in anticipation of the 1st August re-openings.
