Lettings Service Update

Home search logo

Following government advice regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, the Council has not been operating its Choice Based Lettings scheme in the normal way. This has led to the suspension of many potential lettings to applicants.

The Council will begin letting properties again from the beginning of June. Applicants who have been offered a property will be contacted in the coming weeks on the next steps.

The Council will be carrying out viewings and signups with the government and public health advice in mind. You will be advised of how this process will work when the team contacts you to arrange viewings.

Volunteers Week: 1st - 7th June

Volunteers week logo

Volunteers have been even more important than ever now. And we want to thank those who have gone beyond to help and support!

A tenant from Gutersloh Court said, 'I've had to isolate and unable to go out. However, my neighbours have been wonderful and call every day to see if I need anything. It's great to know people that are so kind a caring. Thank you.'

At Southfields Court we say thanks to Linda and Dave. They organised Fish & Chips deliveries and are doing weekly quizzes by posting them through their neighbours doors.

Why not share you're story of a volunteer who's going beyond the call of duty by email housingengagement@broxtowe.gov.uk or call 0115 917 3530.

Loneliness Awareness Week: 15th - 19th June

Loneliness Awareness Week 2020

We've had to get creative when trying to connect with people during the pandemic. But many of us have found a way to make each other smile!

However, there are people out there that are lonely and who are too embarrassed, or fearul of being judged to talk about it.

Marmalade Trudes has launched the campaign #LetsTalkLoneliness, it's the first step to reducing the stigma around loneliness.

So, lets getting talking!
