Housing Services Update

Housing Repairs –  Following the Prime Ministers briefing on Sunday 10th May, we are currently reviewing the level of Repairs work that we will be completing. At this time we are still only completing emergency repairs, gas servicing and some external works. All other repair requests will be completed at a later date.

We are following the latest guidance from the Health and Safety Executive and Gas Safe. When visiting operatives and gas engineers will take all possible steps to prevent the spread of infection including using hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the property.

Household members will be asked to remain in a different room of the property whilst work and inspections are being completed to ensure that social distancing measures are maintained.

If you have an appointment for gas servicing booked but members of your household are self-isolating or are have been identified as part of the shielded group please contact us to discuss this.

General Needs – We are not completing home visit and will continue to contact tenants by phone. We are contacting tenants who are over 70 or vulnerable to offer support.

Independent Living – Independent Living Coordinators will not be working on schemes and will continue to contact tenants by phone. All communal rooms, such as lounges, quiet rooms and hobby rooms remain closed. Activities in schemes will remain cancelled.

Allocations – We will continue to contact every applicant who has been offered a property to review their current situation and see if they are able to remain in their current accommodation at this time.

Private Sector Housing - Private Sector Housing Officers will still minimise housing inspections visits and focus on assistance with emergency repairs for tenants in the private rented sector.

Lifeline Service - We are still not accepting any new Lifeline home alarm requests. If there is an emergency breakdown for an existing customer, the Lifeline Co-ordinator will contact you directly and talk you through the issue over the phone.  If a new part is required, where necessary we will drop it off outside the door and call to explain installation (for example, a replacement pendant).

Ending Your Tenancy - If you are due to return your keys but are unable to do so please let us know. We can make arrangements for you to remain at your property for longer if you need extra time. If you need to return keys because your tenancy has come to an end, please post them in the letterbox outside our Beeston Office on Foster Avenue. Please ensure that they are clearly labelled with your name and address. Please let us know you have done this by calling 0115 917 3347 or email housingallocations@broxtowe.gov.uk.

Broxtowe Community Appeal Logo

We now only have 13 days left to reach our £10,000 target for the Broxtowe Community Appeal and we've managed to raise just over £4,400 so far!

Thank you to all of those who have already donated as we have had 70 backers so far. If we don't reach our target by the 24th May none of the money will go towards helping our community groups and food banks.

If you'd like to do a fundraiser for the appeal please get in touch as we can help promote your fundraiser or if you would like to donate directly click the 'donate' button.

Tenants celebrating VE Day

Our tenants of Church Close had a great time celebrating VE Day! They were able to keep safe by staying 2 metres apart and still have a fab time!
