Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Training will be given on Croft software.
- Post daily sales income to Croft Accounts as per bank statements.
- Post purchase invoices to Croft Accounts.
- Arrange for settlement of purchase invoices within credit terms granted by suppliers. Usually done at end of following month e.g. June invoice paid end of July. At present most paid by BACS via Internet Banking
- Post Sales Invoices to Croft Accounts.
- Monitor regularly any sales invoices outstanding beyond credit terms
- Reconcile Bank Statement on croft monthly.
- Prepare wages on a monthly basis as per time sheets approved by Secretary/Manager. (for 20 full-Time/Part-Time staff)
- Payment to employees presently made by BACS via Internet Banking with crediting date being 28th of the month.
- Transfer Wage details monthly to Croft Accounts from Wages/Salaries Summary Sheet.
- Keep record of hours worked for Holiday Pay entitlement.
- Submit payment of PAYE/NI to HMRC by 19th of following month. Presently paid by BACS via Internet Banking.
- Remind appropriate employees/official that a stock valuation (Bar, Course, Kitchen) be made at 31st
- Prepare weekly takings and Banking in the absence of Secretary/Manager.
- Answer telephone enquiries and transfer to appropriate section.
- Open mail and deal with any enquiries.
- Raise cheques at the end of each month for outstanding invoices.
- Ensure petty cash is available and recorded accordingly.
- Check till floats and safe every morning.
- Check green fees daily and reconcile with the spread sheets.
- Prepare the banking on a daily/weekly basis.
- Liaise with Graham Paul to make sure any starters and finisher forms are filled in correctly.

About the Role
As Shop Manager you'll:
- Lead and support a diverse team of volunteers from all walks of life
- Manage our furniture collections and deliveries – liaising with our external transport team
- Be supported by a deputy manager
- Promote and support our vegan message (You do not have to be vegan/vegetarian to apply for the job but you must respect our values and ethics)
- Keep the shop running smoothly through shifting priorities and demands
- Take pride in creating an organised, welcoming, and well-presented space
- Drive sales and community engagement while staying mission-focused
