To ensure minimum disruption over the Easter Bank Holiday period, waste collection within the Borough will continue as usual. If you need to check your bin collection day, please visit our website for more information.
Here are some easy tips to help you recycle this Easter:
- Foil wrappers: Scrunch them into a ball and recycle! If it springs back, it's laminated and belongs in your white sack.
- Plastic wrappers: These can't go in your recycling bin, but you can drop them off at your local supermarket.
- Eggshells & peelings: Pop them in the food caddy or your compost bin.
- Food waste: Use up those leftovers! Check out Love Food Hate Waste for delicious recipes.

Brentwood Borough Economic Growth Strategy consultation survey
Brentwood Borough Council has refreshed its Economic Growth Strategy for 2025 – 2028. The draft strategy provides a strategic overview of the council’s key areas of focus across three economic growth pillars:
-
Start-ups: Entrepreneurial Spirit at the Core
-
Skills: Building a Workforce for a Modern Economy
-
Sustainability: At the Heart of Growth
The strategy identifies the key priorities for the council over the next three years and an action plan outlining deliverables. The action plan will be subject to annual review. The current draft action plan covers April 2025 - March 2026.
We are seeking the views of the local business community on the three growth pillars identified above and the accompanying action plan for 2025-26.
Your insights will help shape the future direction of our local business community. The survey closes on Sunday 18 May 2025.

Let’s SCRAP fly tipping!
Brentwood Borough Council has joined councils across Essex, alongside Essex County Council, to come together to tackle fly tipping in our county.
We all hate fly tipping littering our roads and countryside, and unfortunately, illegal waste operators target everyone from householders to big businesses, with offers of cheap waste disposal.
So next time you have something to get rid of, that can't be reused, remember to follow the S.C.R.A.P. code:
SUSPECT all waste carriers CHECK their registration REFUSE suspicious offers ASK what will happen next PAPERWORK is YOUR proof
Look out for the SCRAP Fly Tipping campaign on our social media.
