Small Business Saturday Awards
2020 has been an extremely challenging year for Brent businesses, nevertheless a fantastic 79 businesses entered this year’s Small Business Saturday Awards.
Brent businesses have continued to show resilience by adapting delivery methods, product offer and supporting community groups. It was particularly heart-warming to hear from businesses who have truly gone above and beyond to support our residents, which is a testament to the true community spirit we have in Brent.

Best Business Interior - XOXO Coffee & Patisserie
A local coffee shop based in Willesden Green, XOXO Coffee won Best Business Interior for their imaginative and highly instagrammable cafe interior. The coffee shop has beautiful floral garlands, creative displays and swinging seats. Why not pop in for a cup of coffee and a cake?

Best Contribution to the Community - Through the Looking Glass
Through The Looking Glass hair salon was founded in Sudbury in 1976. Owner Christine has created a real community focus, by fundraising for many charities, supporting the local Residents Association and various community groups.

Most Adaptive Business Response to COVID-19 - Liquid Bubble
When faced with a 50% loss due to lockdown, Liquid Bubble showed real resilience by adapting their product. Liquid Bubble used existing machinery to manufacture protective screens for businesses to ensure they were COVID-secure. They also set up a brand new ecommerce website within one week, in order to sell screens online and reach a wider audience.

Back in 2016, Babla's Jewellers undertook some basic digital training with Brent Council. They now have a fantastic ecommerce site, that has enabled them to continue trading throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and maintain a competitive edge.

Best Business Partnership - Wembley Traders Association and Little India Traders Association
Both Francis Henry (of Wembley Traders Association) and Raj Siva (of Little India Traders Association) have partnered up to support their local communities. They meet regularly to ensure the local business community collaborates and works towards supporting each other.
