Bracknell Library is hosting a party to celebrate on Friday 10th September.

The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest Councillor Ash Merry and Mayoress, Councillor Isabel Mattick will open the celebrations at 11am. Visitors are invited for refreshments 11am-1pm and visitors will also be able to look at a display on the library’s last 50 years.

Then at 3pm, bestselling crime and thriller author Peter James, writer of the much-loved Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, will be chatting online, with visitors also able to watch in Bracknell Library.

The event will also be shown on a large screen at Bracknell Library for customers that do not have their own computer or device. Please contact Bracknell Library to book your place in the screening and submit any questions that you would like to be asked in the interview with Peter James.

Open plus

Good news! Open+ is back!

Open + is back at Sandhurst Library from Wednesday 1st September. The extended opening hours will see library services available from 8am–8pm, Monday – Friday, 8am–6pm on Saturdays and 10am–6pm on Sundays.

The service is available for all customers who are already registered Open+ users. Customers can borrow, renew and return items, study, use the public PCs and Wi-Fi, or sit and read the paper. Due to a technical issue with the printing at the moment, customers can only print up to two pages at a time – we are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

But Dad soon puts Matty's fears to rest with a series of increasingly imaginative suggestions for alternative modes of transport - from a tractor to a dragon, a polar bear to a rowing boat.
