Libraries Week 8-13 October 2018.

Libraries Week 2018

Libraries Week- 8-13th October 2018

Join us in celebration of the nation’s much-loved libraries. This year the focus is on wellbeing and how libraries can help people stay healthy and connected.

Have you recently checked out what events are being held at your local library? Libraries hold a wide range of activities including craft sessions, reminiscence, meditation, Tai Chi, knitting, scrabble...and many more!

Audiobooks are a fantastic tool for combating loneliness, allowing the listener to immerse themselves fully in the thoughts and emotions of the characters and in the setting of the story. Having a book read to you is like having a companion in the room, telling you a story. Our libraries have Spoken Word CDs  and free e-audio books are added to the BorrowBox and RBdigital apps every month.

All our libraries also have Reading Well Books on Prescription recommended by health experts to help you understand and manage your health and wellbeing .
