A new Council is coming

From 1st April 2019 Bournemouth Borough Council, Borough of Poole, and all the District Councils in Dorset, will no longer exist. A new Council is being formed called Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, shortened to BCP Council. The remaining areas in Dorset will come under Dorset Council. There are a lot of services that Councils run, such as libraries, household waste, parks, parking, housing and Adult Social Care. A lot of work is taking place to make sure they still run smoothly, but over time there will be some changes. Keep an eye on the local newspapers, and leaflets sent to all households to find out more.

Alerts

Cyber-crime is a fast growing area of crime. Protect yourself online by following these top tips:

• Don’t click on links or open email attachments from people you don’t know – remember fraudsters can spoof an email address to make it look like one used by someone you trust.
• Public WiFi isn’t as secure as you think. Where possible use your 3G/4G network instead
• Never send your bank details using shared WiFi.
