Carers Corner

Written by Carers for Carers

My pet piglet

I don’t want to be a piglet, I have one of my own, you see. He’s a person I give love to, and encouragement as well, no fee.

Other carers come and go, they have their own lives to lead, but my Piglet in his dependence, doesn’t grasp his constant need.

In full twenty four hour seven, of each day and week. Most noticeable in the early hours, then I’m the one he’ll seek

At beck and call, Lift after fall, he’s a pet I can rely on, he doesn’t need a walk, but plenty of food, keeps his system in top form.

My piglet is so loving, and enjoys a pat and hug, his smile that’s so enchanting, beats any four-legged pug.

But I don’t want to be a piglet, I know too much, you see! For when it’s my turn to be one, there’ll be no-one left to care for me.
