Digital and Creative work placements - can you help? |
Digital and Creative is a priority sector for the Team Bolton Partnership which means making sure we are developing the skills and talents of our residents to match employers' needs in the sector. We are keen to hear from Digital and Creative businesses who want to inspire the next generation of young people by offering student placements and internships, developing apprenticeships or by attending careers events for students to showcase the opportunities available, so that Bolton benefits from its home-grown talent. If you are interested in supporting job seekers, please consider offering a Work Placement to help them get back into work. If you are a Digital and Creative business and would like to learn more about how your business can support young people and jobseekers by offering a work placement, as well as the support available from the Team Bolton Partnership to help you do this, please visit the link below.

Apprenticeships are changing |
This week (6th to 10th March) is the 10th National Apprenticeship Week and there will be local, regional and national events and communications to raise awareness of the impact apprenticeship and traineeships have on residents, business and the economy. It's an interesting time for apprenticeships and there are plenty of changes happening. From April, Government will fund apprenticeships differently. Employers with an annual pay bill of over £3million will be required to pay a contribution (Levy) towards apprenticeship training which will be offset by a £15,000 allowance. The Digital Apprenticeship Service is now live for employers and will support businesses to select a Framework or Standard, choose a training provider and advertise and recruit apprenticeship vacancies. The changes also mean that there will be new incentives for small businesses to take on an apprentice. The Team Bolton Partnership held a well attended event in January to support businesses affected by the Levy and we are continuing to support all employers by providing impartial advice and guidance. Team Bolton would like to work with you to shape apprenticeship provision locally. If you would like further information on this, or have any training and recruitment queries please contact TeamBolton@bolton.gov.uk.
