Smithills; a natural place for business

Smithills is open for business

The Smithills Estate is a diverse landscape at the foot of the West Pennine Moors in Bolton, a large part of which is now managed by the Woodland Trust. The Trust is working to establish a new community of enterprises at Smithills, which can either be based on the site, or which utilise Smithills’s many assets to establish a successful business.

On 1st February 2017, 5pm-7.30pm, a free information and networking event will be held at Smithills Hall (BL1 7NP). This event welcomes anyone with an idea for a business at Smithills, or who would like to know more about the plans, speak to the team and find out about support available.

If you’d like more information in advance of the event, please email: smithillsenterprise@woodlandtrust.org.uk or call the Woodland Trust Head Quarters on 0330 333 5301.

Places are limited, so register early to avoid disappointment.

Collaborative support for manufacturing companies

Business Bolton website

The event was a new initiative developed by The Manufacturers Alliance, Bolton Council, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Business Growth Hub and the University of Bolton. The group intend to work collaboratively in the Bolton area to provide a platform for local manufacturing.

Feedback provided by the businesses in attendance focused on key challenges including skills and recruitment, marketing, cost reduction and time management.
