Welcome to the weekly COVID-19 information round up.
|
is bulletin aims to give you a summary about COVID-19 related information that is new or has changed recently.
If a friend has forwarded this email to you, you can subscribe to email updates about Coronavirus for people who live and work in the Bradford district.
Thanks for testing regularly. It’s helping keep everyone safer.
Taking a rapid Covid-19 test twice a week gives us more chance of staying ahead of the spread of the virus, particularly as new strains appear.
And it helps protect you and everyone else at work.
So, even if you’ve had the vaccine and show no symptoms, do keep on testing.
You’re making a real difference.
You can read the latest Coronavirus advice on our website.
Care home workers and those entering care homes
The Government has made it law that all care home workers and those entering care homes will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the 11 November 2021, unless they are exempt.
16 September is the last date for care home workers, volunteers, students and tradespeople, who enter care home buildings (hairdressers, maintenance workers etc.) to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so that they are fully vaccinated in time for when the regulations come in to force. You can see the timeline for implementation on the image below.
Vaccinations can be booked online through the national booking service or by ringing 119. It is also possible to visit one of hundreds of walk-in centres across the country without the need to book in advance. Find your nearest centre.
NHS COVID Pass
The government has updated the guidance on how to get the NHS COVID Pass and demonstrate COVID-19 status when travelling abroad and domestically at events and venues in England.
The update includes information highlighting that children under 18 do not have to demonstrate their COVID-19 status for entry to domestic events or venues in England. It also confirms that young people aged 16 or over can get an NHS COVID Pass for travel but should follow the entry requirements of the country they are travelling to.
The COVID vaccine is important for all of us.
It is important that we all do our bit to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
It is essential that we all take sensible steps to protect ourselves, our friends and loved ones to stop the virus spreading.
We ask everyone in the district to continue letting fresh air into enclosed spaces, take up the offer of twice-weekly free testing, wash their hands and book both doses of their vaccine.
Find out how you can access free tests or get your vaccine here:
www.bradford.gov.uk/health/health-advice-and-support/coronavirus-covid-19-advice/
To help limit the spread of the virus, you should get both doses of vaccine without delay.
It’s really easy for you to #GrabAJab too, no appointment is needed - pop along to one of our walk-in clinics.
Timetable of walk-in vaccination clinics across the district
Who can attend?
- Anyone aged 16 or over. Some clinics are for people of certain ages because of the type of vaccine being offered and some walk-in sites are offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 16 and 17 – see below.
- Anyone who is due their second dose and had their first dose 8 weeks ago or there’s a clinical need for it to be earlier.
- If you already have an appointment booked, you can still get a jab at a walk-in clinic but please make sure you cancel your booked appointment so someone else can use it.
- You do not need to have an NHS number or be registered with a GP.
Check out the full timetable including eligibility and vaccine types for walk-in vaccinations. The overview is below but the website will always have the most up to date information.
