Back to school
Across the Bradford District schools are excited to be welcoming children and young people back after the summer holiday.
All schools have continued to take lots of steps to minimise the spread of the virus and will keep following local and national advice.
If you are a parent or carer of a school aged child please watch out for more information from your child's school or college or check out our website which shows what changes you can expect when your child goes back to school.
COVID-19 testing following festival attendance
Festival goers over the bank holiday weekend and this next weekend, including those who are fully vaccinated, are being advised to take an LFD (Lateral Flow Device) after the event they attended.
The government is advising that people who attended a festival last weekend should take an LFD test when they get home, and continue to test with an LFD twice a week, to help identify cases early and stop onward transmission.
Don't forget - you can still have coronavirus and test positive without showing any symptoms.
Speak up and help beat coronavirus (COVID-19)
There's a fascinating new study taking place that the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is seeking volunteers for. The study will explore how algorithms can use voice data, including cough recordings, to detect COVID-19.
Using voice sounds to identify if someone is more likely to need a test could help find more cases and help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Anyone over the age of 18 can take part within 72 hours of taking a COVID-19 (lateral flow or PCR). Volunteers will need access to a smartphone or tablet, laptop or desktop computer and their COVID-19 NHS test kit barcode number.
Timetable of walk-in vaccination clinics across the district
Who can attend?
- Anyone aged 16 or over. Some clinics are for people of certain ages because of the type of vaccine being offered and some walk-in sites are offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 16 and 17 – see below.
- Anyone who is due their second dose and had their first dose 8 weeks ago or there’s a clinical need for it to be earlier.
- If you already have an appointment booked, you can still get a jab at a walk-in clinic but please make sure you cancel your booked appointment so someone else can use it.
- You do not need to have an NHS number or be registered with a GP.
