Tier 3 update 2 Dec 2020

Bradford District now under Very High Restrictions

Bradford District, alongside all other West Yorkshire authorities has now become a Tier 3 ‘Very High Alert Level’ area.

The district is in Tier 3 because of the high rate of infection, the number of COVID-19 hospital admissions and the ongoing need to tackle the spread of coronavirus.  Tier 3 however is less strict than the restrictions imposed through the national lockdown.

The main differences between the national restrictions and the new Tier 3 restrictions are that:

  • People can socialise in a group of up to 6 in some outdoor public spaces, including parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, a public garden, grounds of a heritage site or castle, or a sports facility.
  • People can attend COVID-safe places of worship but must avoid mingling.
  • Non-essential retail can re-open.

For more information and further updates, please visit our COVID page

We have also published a page of Frequently Asked Questions, which may help answer some of the queries you might have about the new restrictions.

Children & Young People SEND outcomes

In May 2020, 54 families identified their top 8 Outcome Statements, which are going to be at the centre of all decisions that involve or impact families with SEND.

During November our SEND Ambassadors met with Youth In Mind (YIM) apprentices to reword these outcomes and made the statements more child focused. We will update you with the next stage of developments in our upcoming newsletters.

Wishing you all a safe and Happy Christmas from the SEND Transformation & Compliance team.
