International Women's Day 2017
 Wednesday 8th of March is International Women's Day and to celebrate Bradford Libraries will be hosting several events and displays.
Poetry
Competition on the theme 'Being
Bold'.
Poems are welcome from anyone in the Bradford Metropolitan District area that
are based on this theme as long as the focus is on the voices/experiences of
women and girls. Poems will be displayed in libraries on or around International
Women's Day and will then be available in pamphlet form. For

Womens' Day 'Zine
In A Day' drop
in workshop with artist Jean McEwan
Wednesday 8th March 2017 11am -
4pm City Library Got a story to tell or a message you want to
communicate on International Women's Day? Join artist and zinemaker Jean
McEwan to make a page in a collective 'zine (a handmade DIY magazine)
celebrating International Womens' Day and the experiences and contribution of
women and girls in Bradford and throughout the world. Make your contribution and
add your voice via words images or both eg poetry, stories, drawing, collage,
photography. All materials are provided but please feel free to bring
anything you would like to use in your page

 Join bestselling author Milly Johnson for a special afternoon of
fabulous women’s fiction to celebrate publication of her thirteenth novel,

World Book Day 2017
 World Book Day is Thursday 2nd March 2017.
Bradford Libraries have lots of events to help you and your child celebrate
books and reading. Some of our events wil have free World Book Day books to
giveaway. Books this year include Peppa Pig; Horrid Henry; Where's Wally as
well as titles from Jacqueline Wilson and David Walliams.

Half Term Fun

Come along and take part in our extra special
storytimes this half term. The sessions will be filled with puppets, storysacks
and crafts. The theme is Count Me In Bags which are storysacks with a focus on
numbers. The sacks have books, games and activities and are available to borrow
on an adult ticket.

Pyjama Drama
|
Come along to our free Pyjama Drama sessions during half term and bring our Count Me In Bags to life.
This half term Bradford Libraries will be joined by Pyjama Drama who will deliver a magical adventure involving parents and children. This will be a free active drama and story session for children aged around 3-6 years.

blog features the district known as Little Germany. It is one of the glories of
the city being famous for a unique collection of magnificent stone-built
Victorian textile warehouses. |
Anita and Me

Adapted from the much-loved novel by Meera Syal, this
poignant coming-of-age tale bursts onto the stage for the very first time. The
colourful and funny story follows Meena, a young girl growing up in the only
Punjabi family in a 1970s Black Country mining village.

Storyteller Irene Lofthouse to Visit Home
Educated Reading Group @ Keighley Library
 Storyteller and local author Irene Lofthouse will be visiting the Home Educated Reading Group on Tues 14th March 2017 11am - 12noon @ Keighley Library. She will be reading from her "Strange Tales from the Dales " and "Strange Tales from Bradford". Families who are currently home educating (children 5+) are welcome to come along to the free event.
The Home Educated Reading Group meets once a month on the first Tuesday at Keighley Library 11am - 12noon. It is open to all families who are home schooling and is a mixed age group with children from 4 to 15 yrs old.
