National stats show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be victims of domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse can unfortunately happen to anyone. If you or someone you know is suffering from domestic abuse, there is help available.

Looking after our mental health

mind

It's important that we look after our mental wellbeing, and that of our friends and families, during this challenging time. Whether it's staying connected through social media apps, video and phone calls, creating a regular routine or looking after ourselves through physical activities, let's do what we can to help one another.

Get tips and advice from the NHS on dealing with stress, boosting your mind and feeling on top of things.

Paying council bills

bills

Whilst the Basildon Centre is closed, if you usually pay cash for your rent, Council Tax or any other service, please call our automated payment line on 01268 533333. All you need are your card details and account number.

You can also make payments online.

Clap for our carers - tonight at 8pm

clap

Don't forget to show your support and appreciation for the NHS and our key workers tonight at 8pm, for their brilliant work during this time.

Whilst we encourage as many of you to join in as possible, we must also advise you not to go out to Basildon hospital, our fire services or any other public gathering to do this. Please show your appreciation by clapping outside your front or back doors, windows or balconies, whilst remaining at home. Thank you.

Parks open, play and leisure facilities closed

parks

Please be reminded that in the interest of public health and safety, our facilities in parks and play areas across the borough remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Our parks remain open however, to use for daily exercise. Please use the parks responsibly, so that they can continue to be used by others - keep moving, keep your distance and don't enter if the park looks too crowded.
