Waste and Recycling Update

Following the first full week of lockdown Basildon Council is thanking residents for supporting refuse and cleansing services.
Kerbside collections are currently running as normal across the borough.
However, signage has been erected in over 200 locations borough wide to encourage people to stay home and continue social distancing in public spaces, while play areas and leisure facilities in parks have been locked.
People are asked to take their exercise locally and wherever possible do not travel to popular parks.
Everyone must stay at home to help stop the spread of coronavirus. You should only leave the house to shop for basic necessities (as little as possible), exercise once a day, medical need or travel to work where it is essential.
Stay at least two metres away from people you do not live with.

Good Friday collections will be one day later. All collections after Easter Monday will be a day later for the whole week.

Requests for Special Collections for the disposal of large household items and electrical household goods have now been suspended.
We plan to complete all special collections for which a date has already been agreed, so customers who have been given a special collection date should put their items out for collection as arranged.
|
In line with current guidance on social distancing, the borough’s mobile tip service (known as the Crunch) remains suspended for the foreseeable future to safeguard staff and those who use the service.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please continue to stay home and stay safe.
Kerbside collections are currently running as normal.

The Barleylands Recycling Centre is closed for the foreseeable future in line with current guidance on social distancing.
All other recycling centres across Essex have been closed including Pitsea Recycling Centre.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please continue to stay home, stay safe and save lives.
Kerbside collections are currently running as normal but all other recycling centres in the county are closed.
