End of demolition works marks another step towards the new hospital

The recent completion of our first phase of enabling works marks another key milestone for the redevelopment of Whipps Cross.

Late last year our plans for the new hospital were approved by Waltham Forest Council, and more recently the Mayor of London gave his approval. With the demolition completed, we are in the best possible position to proceed once we’re given the ‘green light’ by the government.

We continue to work closely with the government’s New Hospital Programme. In March, we submitted a detailed business case requesting funding for the new multi-storey car park that will need to be built before construction of the new hospital begins. Subject to approvals, we expect construction of the new car park could begin later this year.
