Today marks Armistice Day, a time to pause and remember our armed forces. The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918. We marked this occasion with a two minute silence at 11am.
Provost Brian Boyd reflected on Armistice Day and delivered these words in support of our service men and women, past and present who serve our country.
A series of events will be held across Angus on Remembrance Sunday (13 November).

Supporting Adoption Week
We’re proud to be supporting Adoption Week next week to raise awareness of adoption and the urgent need to find adoptive families for children in Angus.
We’ve lots planned over the week including sharing a heart-warming video from Wendy and Kev about their journey from their initial adoption enquiry to being matched with their child. The Permanence Team are available throughout the week if you’d like to find out more - 01241 464646 or why not come to our info session on 30 November? We’ll share more when adoption takes over You Matters next week!

The Angus Data Project
Previously we explained why data was so important because it will help us to store and share data more effectively and safely and make better decisions.
By doing this it will allow us to better target our resources, help us create more innovative service delivery and improve our service performance and outcomes for our citizens. We've now formed a cross-functional team who will be pulling this work together, looking at three different aspects of data: People, Technologies and Processes. Look out for the survey next week!

Back to the kind...
Sunday is World Kindness Day and a time to make kindness to others, and importantly to yourself, the norm. Pay for someone's coffee, let someone through in traffic. It doesn't take much to be kind and make another person's day a wee bit better. And charity starts at home so be kind to yourself

Don't blame it on the sunshine...
Vitamin D has a number of important functions and is needed to support bone and muscle health, our main source being sunlight. Because we sadly lack in sunlight during the winter months, Food Standards Scotland is encouraging everyone in Scotland to consider taking a Vitamin D supplement between October and March. You can also check out these foods high in Vitamin D. I tried to shade from the sun from behind a colander, but I strained my eyes.

And finally...Get me out of here...
Nothing heralds the festive season quite like watching a bunch of celebs eating kangaroo toenails in the middle of the Australian jungle. If a Bushtucker Trial isn't your thing, check out these autumn inspired recipes instead.
Boy George was reportedly attacked by a feisty reptile while doing a Bushtucker Trial. Apparently they tried to get a calmer chameleon but they come and go.
