From the CEO’s Desk: Building, Sustaining Effective Collaborations to Deliver Results

April was another busy month in the Rural Capital Area. We participated in the Youth Career Day event in Bastrop and it was a great success. We continued hosting the county workforce meetings in Bastrop, Hays and Caldwell counties. We also began rotating the location of our Board meetings and held the first one of those meetings in the Star Park Business Incubator at Texas State University in San Marcos. The Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) Board has transitioned the Board Chair from Margaret Lindsey to Frank Leonardis. Margaret served tirelessly as Board chair for over 10 years and while she is stepping down as Board Chair, she will continue to serve on the workforce Board. I am in debt to her for her guidance and leadership over those years. We continue to learn new ways we can impact the workforce in our area for both employers and job seekers. We will use what we learn to improve what we do throughout the region. We look forward to continuing to obtain more feedback and using that information improve our services.
