The theme is set in the year 1900 and is a bit vaudeville in nature. It will be a celebration of the success of Houdini before his European tour. The night of his going away party, tragedy strikes. Was is an accident or an assignation attempt gone wrong? Come find out at the Goodman-LeGrand Museum on Friday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are limited and are $40 per person. If we end up having a lot on the waiting list we will add another evening. Our meal will be provided by Azalea Catering.
The home will be all decorated for Christmas so it will be a grand evening for all. This event is a fundraiser for the Goodman-LeGrand Museum for its day to day operations and restoration projects. Please contact Debbie Isham at DIsham@TylerTexas.com for more information.

The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department and Keep Tyler Beautiful are providing two locations for Christmas tree recycling in Tyler. Residents can drop off their undecorated, non-flocked natural Christmas trees starting the day after Christmas, in designated areas at Golden Road Park and Fun Forest Park in Tyler.
Golden Road Park is located at the intersection of McDonald Road and Golden Road. Fun Forest Park is located in the 900 block of North Glenwood Boulevard.
All lights, ornaments, garland and tinsel should be removed from the Christmas tree before dropping it off near the sign that says “Christmas Tree Drop Off.”
The trees at the parks are available for area fisherman to pick up and sink in nearby lakes to create fish habitats. Small fish eat the aquatic insects that find a home in the tree branches. The fish also use the trees as a hiding place. As a result, the fishing is improved around the recycled trees because more fish congregate in these areas.
For more information, contact Shelby Marvin, Keep Tyler Beautiful Community Coordinator, at (903) 531-1335 or e-mail KTyB@TylerTexas.com.
