 Region 12 STEM Fest
The Region 12 Education Service Center welcomed over 1,500 participants to the STEM Fest in Waco, Texas. This free event promoted STEM awareness in the community by engaging participants through engineering design challenges, coding activities, and even solving crimes. During the downtown STEM Stroll, businesses gave tours and shared how they apply STEM thinking in their careers. STEM FEST was made possible through Region 12’s Texas EcosySTEM community partnerships.

 Temple ISD STEM Program
After attending the TEA Statewide STEM Leadership training, Hugh Burke, Digital Learning Coach at Temple ISD, used the Texas STEM Framework, STEM Toolkit, and the Region 12 Texas EcosySTEM to strengthen their network of colleagues and cultivate resources to move their STEM program forward. The district has developed intentional systems to facilitate and support STEM instruction in math and science classrooms this year. Their back-to-school training featured engineering design challenges for the staff to start the year with a STEM focus.
