What’s New in Performance Reporting

A–F Accountability

Beginning with 2022 accountability ratings, the newly designed Texas Success Initiative assessment (TSIA2) will be considered for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) credit for 2020–21 graduates and non-graduating 12th graders in addition to prior TSIA1 records. This document details how a student can meet TSI criteria for CCMR via the TSIA1 and/or TSIA2.

As a reminder, to meet TSI criteria for accountability purposes, a student must meet the minimum scores in both English language arts/reading (ELAR) and mathematics via the SAT, ACT, TSIA or by earning credit for a college prep course. The student does not necessarily need to meet criteria for both subjects on the same assessment. For example, a student may meet the ELAR TSI criteria on the TSIA and complete and earn credit for a college prep course in mathematics.

If you have questions about the inclusion of TSIA1 or TSIA2 in CCMR, please reach out Performance Reporting at performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov or (512) 463-9704.

Local Accountability System

The Local Accountability Guide and Frequently Asked Questions provide information about plan requirements and example components. Both documents can be found on the local accountability webpage.

Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar with time for Q & A.

Registration links are available for upcoming webinar dates in August and September. The timeline for districts wishing to develop a local accountability plan is posted on our webpage and the Notice of Interest form will be available in September.

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

As mentioned in previous communications, the deadline to submit correction requests, including changes to student identification information, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) ID, and County-District-Campus codes, score code and language changes, rescores, resolutions, and any scoring investigations for STAAR to the ETS Support Center was July 31, 2021. Requests outside of this corrections window will not be processed.

As a part of the contract transition, ETS will be providing all necessary State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), STAAR Alternate 2, Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), and TELPAS Alternate score data to CAI. Any districts that would like to retain copies of their individual district results for STAAR should download those results from the Reports > Results in the Assessment Management System prior to August 31, 2021. Please note, CAI cannot generate updated STAAR Report Cards.

For questions or help with accessing and interpreting STAAR results, districts and parents can email assessment.reporting@tea.texas.gov or call (512) 463-9704.
