The CLNA-Special Collection (SC) 5600 submission deadline has been extended until June 1, 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19.
The CLNA-Special Collection (SC) 5600 can be accessed under the Special Collections tab in eGrants. The CLNA guidebook is available by selecting the instructions button within the SC5600.
Important Dates
The CLNA must be submitted prior to accessing the Perkins local application for 2020-2021. Below are important dates:
- Perkins ADC is available on 5/15/2020 if the LEA has submitted the CLNA (SC5600) and the Formula Grants Consolidated Schedule (SC5003)
- The CLNA deadline for submission is June 1, 2020 (extended deadline)
- Perkins local application opens on June 2, 2020
- Perkins local application submission deadline is September 3, 2020
CTE weighted funding will not be impacted due to distance learning or the inability for students to complete the work-based learning component of Practicum or Career Preparation courses.
- Career Preparation may include a paid or unpaid work-based learning experience.
- If students in Career Preparation have lost their job or if students in a Practicum course lost their internship placement due to COVID-19, then an alternative assignment may replace the time missed at the training site.
The agency has developed an Instructional Continuity Framework that consists of phases, each of which has a series of supporting planning categories. An Industry-Based Certification (IBC) Reimbursement Frequently Asked Questions document has been posted on the TEA CTE Webpage. Sections of the document include:

The IBC FAQ document will be updated periodically to include additional questions and responses.
Seventy-two applicants have been preliminarily awarded a CTE summer grant, pending successful completion of fiscal and programmatic review and negotiation. The total amount of funds awarded is approximately $3.5 M. The purpose of the grant is to provide opportunities for Texas CTE students to:
1) complete additional CTE courses in the summer or
2) participate in a summer work-based learning opportunity.
