Description
TEA is committed to providing great school options for all students and
families with a strategic priority of improving low-performing schools. ESSA requires
districts to develop plans that aim to improve student outcomes in persistently
struggling schools, providing an opportunity for districts to take bold action
to provide new and improved opportunities for students. To assist districts
with plans to turn around low-performing campuses, TEA will develop and manage
competitive grants for the transformation and creation of new educational
pathways. By transforming struggling campuses into high-quality autonomous
campuses for students who would otherwise attend underperforming campuses, the
goal is to drastically increase the number of students who attend and have
access to a great school.
Application Deadline
Applications must be received
by the Texas Education Agency by 5:00 p.m. (Central Time), May 29, 2018, to be
considered for funding.
