Deadline Reminder from the
Federal Fiscal Compliance and Reporting Division

January 17, 2018

January 26, 2018: Deadline for Requesting Indirect Cost Rates for 2018-2019 (Independent School Districts Only)

As described in the December 8, 2017 letter posted to the TEA Correspondence page, effective with school year 2018–2019, all previous indirect cost rate extensions are rescinded and ISDs must request an indirect cost rate each year by completing and submitting the Indirect Cost Rate Proposal (ICRP) Additional Costs Workbook. The deadline for submitting the workbook, and thus requesting an indirect cost rate, is January 26, 2018.

The submission of the ICRP Additional Costs Workbook serves as an ISD’s request for an indirect cost rate. Rates will be calculated only for ISDs that submit a completed workbook. If the ISD does not submit a completed workbook, TEA will not calculate or issue a rate for that ISD for the 2018–2019 school year.

Completing and Submitting the Workbook

The ICRP Additional Costs Workbook and the Instruction Manual are available on the Indirect Cost Rates page of the TEA website, and the ICRP Additional Costs Workbook is also available in the secure GFFC Reports and Data Collections application (accessible through TEAL).

The ISD must submit the workbook through the secure GFFC Report and Data Collections application. The ICRP Additional Costs Workbook Instruction Manual includes step-by-step upload instructions.

Consequence of Failing to Comply

Since all previously-extended indirect cost rates have been rescinded, if an LEA does not submit the ICRP Additional Costs Workbook to TEA by the January 26, 2018, deadline, that LEA will not have indirect cost rates for use during fiscal year 2018-2019.
